We’ve all heard of tailgating, but with kids, the price of game tickets, and this frigid winter weather, ain’t nobody got time for that! This year, I am all about homegating with a fun, football-themed party for the big game on February 4th! Everybody knows the best part about the big game is spending time with family and friends… and chowing down on delicious food! Your guests are guaranteed to be impressed with a spread of Farm Rich snacks during your party. I recently threw a homegating party of my own to watch the playoffs with our friends, so here are some tips for you based on that experience.
1. Decorate with football-themed party supplies
Instead of opting for team colors, stay neutral with party supplies you might be able to use again next year, especially if you have extras. I used football field-imprinted tablecloths and an adorable cardboard stadium to display the snacks. I placed festive flag picks in the Farm Rich finger foods I served to make the food part of the décor. I also found adorable mini chalkboards to label each dish on my taco bar.
2. Use coolers as drink stations
Label each cooler (water, beer, wine, soda) and then allow guests to serve themselves. Ice-filled coolers add to the outdoor, tailgating feel while making less work for you. Just check them periodically to make sure they are stocked throughout the party. Since this event was small, we kept most of the drinks in the fridge, but the next time I throw a larger Game Day party I am definitely going with this strategy.
3. Make Farm Rich your go-to snacks for a super game-day food spread
They’re tasty, fast and convenient! Don’t spend the whole party in the kitchen, making Pinterest-perfect creations. The only thing being judged at your football-themed party will be the players! Not only does Farm Rich help you throw a no-sweat party in the comfort of your own home, but they’re the makers of America’s favorite Mozzarella Sticks. These things are made with 100% real mozzarella cheese, serve as a good source of calcium and protein, and have 0g of trans fat per serving, so nobody has to blow their New Year’s resolutions to enjoy them! (Their Loaded Potato Skins and Cheddar Cheese Curds are fan-favorites, too.) Farm Rich is sure to be your new #HomegatingHero for the big game 2018!
4. Make cleanup easy
Get disposable plates, bowls, cups, and utensils, and make it clear where the trash bins are by pulling them out and placing them in a visible location. Provide stacks of napkins and moist towelettes on each table so that guests can easily help minimize messes.
5. Go the extra mile
If you really want to recreate the tailgating feel, provide collapsible seating, blankets and throws, and even a face-painting station with a mirror and each teams’ colors! Check out more easy ways to homegate at: http://clvr.li/2qGDliT
Your homegating, football-themed party is sure to be more fun than a freezing tailgate party thanks to Farm Rich snacks, cute decorations, and a few fun touches. How will you be watching the big game this year?
