The Ritz-Carlton is synonymous with luxury and hospitality, but as we’ve learned in our recent travels, it’s also a brand that’s very accommodating to families. We stayed at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto over the holidays and had a fabulous experience for so many reasons. (Check your dates for rates.)
1. It’s located at the center of it all
The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto overlooks the CN Tower. It’s two blocks away to be exact (and there’s tons of cool stuff for families to do there, by the way). Ripley’s Aquarium Canada is also nearby, as are some pretty big sporting venues. In fact, my husband and a friend went to see a Toronto Raptors game since it was within walking distance. With the Ritz-Carlton at the heart of Toronto’s entertainment district, everything your family will want to do and see will be within reach.
2. You’ll have plenty of space for your whole family
We stayed in room 1715, a one-bedroom suite that provided more than 650 square feet of space. It had a living room with a foyer powder room, wood flooring throughout, and stunning views of the city skyline. The main bathroom was impressive, with marble stone walls and flooring, an oversized tub, and separate rain-shower.
3. Ritz-Carlton provides unique, memorable experiences
From hockey to culinary to aquarium-themed adventures, Ritz-Carlton provides plenty fun activities to keep families entertained. The Culinary Creators Experience, for example, allows kids to make liquid nitrogen ice cream sundaes in the Ritz-Carlton kitchen with a Toronto-based chef. Our kids loved the Ritz-Carlton Camp Experience, in which the staff set up a tent in the living room of our suite and left a few, special, camp-themed amenities for the girls to take home (a flashlight, a stuffed animal, and a bedtime story book).
4. The Club Level lounge is a life saver
Having access to a Club Level lounge while traveling with kids is a must in our book, but we have never used one of these lounges more than we did during our trip to Toronto. We visited the city over the holidays and it was especially cold, even by Toronto standards. So we really appreciated not having to leave the hotel for meals, snacks, and treats when it was freezing outside.
5. Two words: Indoor pool
When the weather is freezing outside, everyone can still have plenty of fun thanks to the hotel’s beautiful indoor pool. It’s in a gorgeously sunny room overlooking the city, and there’s even a nice, little hot tub, too.
Why it’s especially nice during the holidays…
The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto makes the holiday season magical with a few special touches, like a locomotive train in the lobby made out of gingerbread and chocolate; surprise letters from Santa saying presents have been left under the tree in the lobby for them; and maple syrup snow candy made in the lobby by staff chefs. (This unique, Canadian confection is made by pouring boiling maple syrup on a bed of real snow. The result is something like taffy.)
The location, spacious accommodations, and memorable experiences The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto provides are reasons enough to choose this hotel for your next family vacation. Access to their epic Club Level lounge and sunny, indoor pool during frigid, winter days seals the deal. And a visit during the holidays will add even more magic to the season. On your next trip to Toronto, stay at the Ritz-Carlton so you won’t have to sacrifice luxury or fun. Check your dates for rates.
