How I Handle Laundry On Family Vacations

I’m a big advocate of flying with carry-on luggage only. Yes, even when traveling with kids and even when taking longer trips. That said, doing this means packing fewer outfits, and sometimes needing to do some laundry while traveling. Even when I can afford laundry service at a hotel, I usually don’t want to pay the inflated rates!

Whenever I travel domestically, I make sure to find a local Walmart and stock up on all® free clear laundry detergent. I find a local laundromat where I can do a quick load while Serge and the girls explore the city on their own. Taking a couple hours out of our itinerary to do this allows us to travel light!

Simply check a local review site for nearby options when it comes to washing clothes while traveling. You’re likely heading out for the day anyway, so dropping off laundry to be washed isn’t a big inconvenience.
